Pittsford Recreation Archery Program
Welcome to Pittsford Recreations 4-Week Archery Program!
This 4-week introductory program is designed for youth in grades 3–6 who are interested in learning or sharpening their archery skills in a safe, structured, and encouraging environment. Participants will learn the fundamentals of archery while developing mental focus, physical discipline, confidence, and concentration. All while discovering a fun recreational sport outside of traditional team sports.
The program is led by Caitlin Reynolds, a Certified Level 2 USA Archery Instructor. Caitlin has participated in the USA Archery Nationals three times while in high school and has placed in the top three in more than 30 tournaments.
*Participants are encouraged to bring their own archery equipment if they have it. If not, the Pittsford Recreation Department will have equipment available for participants to use.*
Session 1 – October 10
Introduction to Archery
Participants will learn the fundamentals of archery, including safety protocols, how to score shots, proper shooting technique, and proper stance.
Session 2 – October 17
Shooting & Skill Development
Participants will practice their shooting skills with guidance and instruction from the instructor.
Session 3 – October 24
Shooting & Tournament Preparation
Participants will continue developing their skills with instructor guidance and prepare for the inter-squad tournament.
Session 4 – November 1
Archery Tournament & Wrap-Up
Participants will put their skills to the test during an archery tournament and finish the program with a wrap-up session.
Program Details:
All sessions are held from 4:00–5:30 PM.
Location: Pittsford Recreation Area – Upper Baseball Field
Grades: 3–6
Spots are strictly limited to 10 participants to ensure a safe environment and allow for individualized, one-on-one instruction.
Registration includes all four sessions. Individual sessions cannot be registered for separately.
